CArtoon character: paper mache
pen and ink project
As my first project in my freshman year, this piece consisted of only using black pens. My first idea was to do a creature with a fuzzy like texture, starting with the peacock spider. From there I began to think about other animals till I thought of a wolf. Instead of doing a normal wolf however, I wanted to fin a picture that showed a certain emotion. As I searched I had finally decided what to convey in this piece, that being anger.
Shading portrait
This piece was based on the ability to successfully create different values, textures and proportions on a human face. We were given many different shading pencils and techniques to use when creating it; however I found myself overwhelmed at the beginning of the project. I had never done something like this before till now, and feared it wouldn't be as great as I wanted. But as I progressed, I began to feel very proud of what I had made.
oil pastels: endangered SPECIES
One of my finally projects of the year might have been the funniest to complete. We were tasked to create a portrait of an endangered species using oil pastels along with colored pencils. Placing layer apron layer onto the paper I used as many colors as needed. The most challenging and most time consuming aspect to this creation was the feathers. I had to make some kind of texture but I found it took longer than expected to convey it. After 2 weeks I can safely say that this was the best project of the whole year.
